From the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel:
Allen County government will pursue several issues in the Indiana General Assembly this year, the Board of Commissioners said this week.
...
The county will oppose the elimination of the cable franchise fees, which would impact the county’s budget by more than $200,000; the elimination of the personal property tax, which would result in a $20 million revenue loss for Allen County while shifting the burden other property taxes; and the creation of a state license for contractors that would supersede the authority of existing county building departments.
And it will support amending state law to allow a more appropriate tax-billing timeline; a law allowing local government to deposit and invest county tax pay dollars in federally owned credit unions; and a resolution naming a portion of the new US 24 in eastern Allen County in honor of State Rep. Phyllis Pond, R-New Haven, who died earlier this year.
