From the Rushville Republican:
Rush County Treasurer Cindy Humphrey reminds Rush County taxpayers that their property tax bills went in the mail March 28. The deadline to pay spring property taxes in Rush County is Friday, May 10.
If you have not received your bill by April 12 call the Treasurer’s office at 932-2386 or e-mail the office at treasurer@rushcounty.in.gov.
There are several options to pay Rush County taxes; cash, checks, money orders, credit cards and debit cards are acceptable. All checks should be payable to the Rush County Treasurer.
The Treasurer’s office, which is located on the second floor of the Rush County Courthouse, is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.
The Main Street entrance to the courthouse is handicap accessible.
All MainSource Bank branches continue to accept payment at their banking institutions. Those locations include downtown, Foster Heights, and Knightstown. Only full payments as stated on the bill may be accepted at the bank and your canceled check will serve as your receipt.
Taxes may be paid by mail if postmarked by May 10.
