From the Indianapolis Star:
A City-County Council committee unanimously signed off Tuesday on an agreement that would divide more than $11.6 million in expected payments from the Capital Improvement Board between the Indianapolis police and fire departments.
The agreement was part of a bipartisan budget deal struck in January between Mayor Greg Ballard, a Republican, and the Democratic-majority council. The CIB runs the city’s sports venues and convention center, and the money it is giving to the public safety agencies includes roughly $6.7 million in expected first-year proceeds from recent increases to taxes on event admissions and auto rentals in Marion County.
Another $5 million will come from a one-for-one swap involving the CIB and a city development fund.

The full council is set to take a final vote on the agreement April 22.
