Porter County Assessor Jon Snyder announced his intention Tuesday to seek a second term.
Snyder said in a prepared statement he is grateful to have had the opportunity to serve the taxpayers of Porter County during his first term.
He said several campaign promises have been kept including the elimination of the appeals backlog and the ability for taxpayers to file a tax appeal online.
Snyder said he has worked closely with the county treasurer, auditor and other elected officials to ensure that tax bills have been mailed timely.
“It would be my goal in a second term to continue the forward momentum established early on in my administration," he said.
Snyder intended to file for re-election by the end of business today.
