WVUT Reports Knox County Offers Coonrod Settlement

From WVUT:

The Knox County Commissioners are preparing to make an offer to Curt Coonrod over disputed claims filed by the Certified Public Accountant.

Coonrod has threatened to go to court to seek the balance of the money owed his company for work performed on behalf of Knox County.

The Commissioners met with Coonrod recently in a closed door session in an attempt to resolve their differences.

County Attorney Dale Webster says they discussed a figure which Coonrod found unacceptable.
Commission President Larry Holscher told members of the County Council last night they are preparing to make Coonrod another offer and sought the council’s approval on the settlement.

Council members remained silent on the advice of their attorney Kerry Currier due to pending litigation in the case.

After the meeting, Councilman Terry Johnson commented that he thought the offer seemed fair.
Johnson along with fellow Council member Mike Thompson have been openly critical of the claims Coonrod has submitted.

In August, the Council voted to suspend using Coonrod’s services.
