The Union County Council on Thursday will hear a request for a tax abatement for bearing manufacturer NSK.
The company is seeking a 10-year tax abatement for its investment of $4.6 million in new equipment this year for the plant on Kitchel Road.
County commissioners unanimously agreed Tuesday to recommend the abatement to the council.
County council also will decide Thursday whether to appropriate the monies requested in the commissioners’ 2014 Economic Development Income Tax plan, which increases the county’s contribution to the Union County Development Corp.
The council will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday in the courthouse meeting room.
