Governor Mike Pence received the Tax Foundation’s Outstanding Achievement in State Tax Reform award Tuesday. Tax Foundation President Scott Hodge, Economist Scott Drenkard and Chairman of the Tax Foundation Board David Lewis presented the award to the Governor, joined by Indiana Office of Management & Budget Director Chris Atkins, State Budget Director Brian Bailey, and Indiana Department of Revenue Commissioner Mike Alley. Pence is one of six individuals to receive the award, all of whom were selected for their efforts to advance the cause of simpler, smarter tax policy last year.
Since 1937, the Tax Foundation has provided Americans with basic information and policy analysis to promote simple, sensible tax policy at the federal and state levels. In October of last year, Indiana was ranked tenth in the nation as part of the Tax Foundation’s 2014 State Business Tax Climate Index.
