Palladium-Item Reports A-Plus Realty Gets Nine Year Tax Break from Richmond

From the Richmond Palladium-Item:

The Richmond Common Council this week approved a nine-year tax abatement for A-Plus Realty LLC on real estate for a $75,000 expansion that is expected to create one job and retain five.

The Richmond company, owner of A-Plus Signs, had asked for a 10-year abatement. It was granted nine because it does not provide health insurance for its employees, which is one of the factors council members weigh when considering a tax abatement.

Bruce Wissel, chairman of the council’s tax abatement committee, said the company’s hourly wage met city guidelines for the abatement. Wissel recommended the nine-year abatement, and council approved it unanimously.
