Pharos-Tribune Reports Logansport Nabs More Than 25 Properties in Commissioners' Sale

From the Logansport Pharos-Tribune:

The city of Logansport acquired more than 25 properties in a Cass County commissioners sale Wednesday that officials hope to improve and market to avoid having to maintain them.

Logansport Mayor Ted Franklin announced last week there were 38 properties in the commissioners sale the city would like to acquire because their neglected states are requiring maintenance from the city anyway.

Logansport Building Commissioner Bill Drinkwine represented the city at the sale and did not cast a bid on any of the 38 properties if another attendee did.The city paid a total of $3,040 for the properties. The expense was drawn from miscellaneous expenses in the city’s rainy day fund. Drinkwine said the total came out to 26 or 27 residential parcels along with parcels that housed industrial activities for decades at 1 General St.
