Daily Journal Reports Heartland Machine and Engineering Granted Tax Break for Expansion in Franklin

From the Johnson County Daily Journal:

Franklin is granting a tax break to a machine and engineering firm that plans to build an expansion and create seven jobs.

Heartland Machine and Engineering plans a 20,000-square-foot expansion at its current location, which will allow it to become a  distribution site for manufacturing equipment produced by Korean firm DMC.

Heartland Machine sells metal-working equipment such as lathes and grinders to industries. President Tom Goin said the new partnership could increase company sales by $20 million per year. He said DMC provides equipment for several customers including Hyundai and Samsung.

Heartland Machine would sell the DMC machines to companies in the United States.
