Despite a still-shaky economy, the Seymour City Council is expected to take action tonight on a project that continues to show one company’s faith the local economy remains healthy enough to support its plans.
Officials with Cummins Engine Co. plan to come before the council during its meeting at 7 p.m. at City Hall to ask for tax abatements on the second year part of it’s 3-year expansion of its Seymour Engine Plant.
Cummins isn’t the only company that will be asking for tax abatements tonight as the council also is scheduled to hear from a Brownstown couple planning to build a new facility to treat and bottle drinking water in Seymour.
Officials with Columbus Container also plan to talk about expansion plans.
