Final steps for a tax abatement were approved for Lippert Components Manufacturing Inc., of Elkhart Monday night, May 20.
The company sought a tax abatement from the city for a three-year period and plans to add 106 jobs by the time expansion is complete in 2016, said Gary McPhail, chief financial officer for the company.
Expansion in Elkhart involves its operation on C.R. 6. The company hopes to invest $500,000 in real property and $2 million in personal property.
Elkhart City Council took the first step toward approving the abatement request April 15. The final approval by council was delayed two weeks because of paperwork.
