Weeks Communications, a cloud-based telecommunications firm, plans to invest $4.1 million in its new headquarters in Broad Ripple and create as many as 183 jobs by 2017.
Formerly based in Anderson’s Flagship Enterprise Center, the 6-year-old firm moved in February to its new offices in 4,900 square feet of space at 6311 Westfield Blvd. The $4.1 million investment will cover expenses such as lease payments, new equipment and buildout.
Doing business under the moniker Fathom Voice, Weeks currently counts 15 employees and has begun hiring workers for technical support, sales management, marketing and development, according to company officials.
“Over the next several months, we’ll be looking to triple our team,” said Fathom Voice CEO Cameron Weeks, who announced the plans with city and state officials Friday afternoon.
Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered Weeks Communications up to $2.4 million in conditional tax credits and up to $80,000 in training grants based on the job creation plans. The tax credits are performance-based, meaning the company is not eligible to claim incentives until employees are hired.
