It’s time for Boone County to consider implementing a wheel tax, county highway superintendent Rick Carney suggested to the Boone County Council Tuesday.
“I know this is not taxpayer-friendly,” Carney said while he outlined a request to buy a road grader and two dump trucks for the highway department. “Would this be the time, and I’ll be the bad guy, to be looking at a wheel tax?”
