A Franklin company is asking for a tax break on new equipment, with plans to continue an ongoing expansion.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Climate Controls is asking the city for a 10-year property tax break on $1.7 million in new equipment used to manufacture metal parts used in automotive air conditioning compressors.
The new equipment would add three jobs, according to paperwork filed with the city.
The Franklin manufacturing company, located at 1200 Mitsubishi Parkway, is planning to add a total of 56 new jobs this year, bringing the total workforce to 166. Currently, the company employs 150 people, according to paperwork filed with the city.
