From the Greenfield Daily Reporter:
All county employees might get a 2 percent raise in 2014. That would mark the second year in a row that elected officials want to give salary increases based on performance, but won’t.
Most county commissioners and council members agree that they’d rather reward effective employees based on performance than hand out raises across the board. An update to the county’s employee handbook has been in the works for a year and a half. When completed, it promises to include job descriptions and criteria for how employees are to be evaluated.
Commissioner Brad Armstrong said it will take several more months to complete the handbook. Meanwhile, county officials will consider giving all employees an equal pay raise.
