Income taxes in Hancock County should remain steady in 2014 now that the primary user of the economic development income tax says it won’t need an increase.
The Hancock County Public Library Board Tuesday generally agreed with its financial adviser that there will be no need to ask the Hancock County Council for an increase in the EDIT to fund its operations in 2014. The current rate for the tax is 0.10 percent. A formal resolution will be voted on at an upcoming meeting and then presented to the council for consideration.
