Republic Reports Columbus Municipal Airport Drops Appeal of Property Tax Exemption

From the Columbus Republic:

Columbus Municipal Airport will drop its appeal of a property tax decision that the land occupied by renters at the airport should be subject to property taxes.

The Columbus Board of Aviation Commissioners agreed Tuesday to end the appeal process, started under the previous city administration, because there was little chance of success.

Because the property at the airport is owned by the city, the businesses that build there can own only their buildings, which they already pay property taxes on.
