Herald-Times Reports Owen County Employees to See 1.5% Raise; Monroe County Still has $780,000 to Cut

From the Bloomington Herald-Times:

During budget hearings last week, members of the Owen County Council approved a small cost-of-living raise for county employees.

Increasing salaries by 1.5 percent will cost the county almost $170,000 in additional wages.
Three jobs and about $200,000 were cut during the first week of budget hearings for the Monroe County Council. But with nearly $780,000 still left to cut for a balanced budget, there is still a long way to go.
The council started the week with a goal of reducing the budget by about $1 million by the end of hearings.
