Tribune Reports Changes to Aviation Taxes Leave Little Consensus Among Local Fliers

From the Seymour Tribune:

Area pilots and aviation businesses are split on whether and where changes this summer in how Indiana taxes airplane fuel and service work will affect them locally.

Those cuts, which went into effect July 1, include eliminating the state’s 7 percent sales tax from the purchase of aviation fuel and replacing it with a flat 10-cents-a-gallon tax and dropped the state tax on maintenance and service work on aircraft.

The federal fuel tax of 21 cents a gallon remains in effect.
