NWI Reports Porter County to Take Hit with Passage of Lake County Income Tax

From the Northwest Indiana Times:

The passage of a Lake County income tax will have an effect on Porter County coffers.

Figures obtained Friday from the Porter County auditor's office show Porter County could lose up to $1.66 million per year when Lake County implements its tax.

That is the amount of money currently collected from Lake County residents who work in Porter County.

There were 8,504 Lake County employees working in Porter County in 2011 with annual earnings of nearly $332 million, according to the report.
