From the Crawfordsville Journal-Review
...
Voters living within the Crawfordsville city limits will cast a yes or no vote for the Tuttle Middle School referendum question.
A tax-neutral referendum deals with a building project at Tuttle — one that would take about three years to complete and carry a price tag of $26-$35 million.
The current school, which offers classes for students in grades six through eight was last renovated in 2000 and 2001. The roof has major leaks in may places. The school has inefficient, potentially dangerous window walls and deteriorating brickwork. The electrical, heating and cooling and sewer systems do not operate properly and there are no working showers in the boys’ locker room (there is one in the girls’ locker room).
If the referendum gets a majority of the votes, then plans for the construction of a new Tuttle Middle School can move forward. The new building would sit to the south of the school’s current location.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday across Montgomery County.
