Elkhart County is competing with areas in three other states to become home to the newest campus of a Tennessee-based renewable energy and chemical coating company that works on military and government projects.
Pison Stream Solutions has set its sights on a former production plant on the southwest side of Elkhart, where the company hopes to hire up to 90 full-time employees including production workers, managers and chemists. The Elkhart County Council gave preliminary approval to the company Saturday, Sept. 14, for a seven-year property tax phase-in.
While Pison is eyeing a building at 28335 Clay St. in Elkhart, the company is also looking into locations in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Virginia.
