The public is invited to a forum for questions on property taxes in St. Joseph County planned for 7 p.m. March 19 at LaSalle Branch Public Library, 3232 W. Ardmore Trail.
The forum will be a panel discussion on how properties are assessed and how values change, how taxes sales are used to collect delinquent tax revenue and why a land bank is proposed for part of South Bend’s plan for vacant and abandoned properties, according to a news release.
The panel is co-sponsored by the Neighborhood Resources Corp. and the Community Forum for Economic Development.
The panel will include Rosemary Mandrici, the county assessor; Peter Mullen, county auditor; Mike Kruk, county treasurer; Rafael Morton, county council president; and Andrew Kostielney, the president of the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners.
