A follow-up to an NBC 2 Investigation on questionable property values - we went right to the top to get answers from Indiana Governor Mike Pence. Governor Pence tells us the state will look into the property assessments process.
As we've previously reported, Vigo County homeowners told us they think their property assessments are politically motivated.
Local officials have denied any corruption, but they still can't explain how property values are determined even after a public meeting with the assessor's office in February.
Appeal hearings for homeowners are not expected to begin until May.
NBC 2 will keep following up with Governor Pence for an answer to how property assessments are calculated.
