Daily News Reports Johnson County Seeking Resident to Serve on PTABOA

From the Johnson County Daily News:

The county commissioners are searching for a new resident to serve on the property tax assessment board.

The Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals meets twice a month from January through October.

Board members review assessment appeals from taxpayers and determine whether a property’s value should be changed.

Meetings last from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break, and board members are paid $100 per day.

Interested applicants must be 18 years old and should understand property tax assessments.
