Republic Reports Cummins Seeking Incentives for Expansion in Walesboro

From the Columbus Republic:

Cummins Inc. will ask the Columbus City Council for tax breaks on a major remodeling of a downtown office building and for the construction of a new $15 million warehouse near Walesboro that would add 25 jobs.

The projects to be considered at Tuesday’s City Council meeting include:
  • Approving a tax abatement for the work to be done at 525 Jackson St., a former Irwin Union building.
  • Approving the designation of the Walesboro-area property as an economic revitalization area and a tax abatement on the project.
