A new Fishers food and beverage excise tax will be voted on at a special town council meeting 7 p.m. Nov. 12. Legislation passed by the Indiana General Assembly earlier this year gives the council power to impose a 1 percent food and beverage tax at restaurants and other businesses
that sell prepared food.If approved, food and beverages would be taxed at a rate of 9 percent in Fishers.
The Legislative Service Agency estimated the tax
