Times Reports Tax Bills on Time Again in Porter County

From the Northwest Indiana Times:

It appears late tax bills are a thing of the past in Porter County.
Property tax bills were mailed out this week, which marks the fifth consecutive year they went out on time, according to Porter County Treasurer Mike Bucko.
Porter County Auditor Bob Wichlinski credited the improved billing to the bipartisan cooperation among his office and the offices of Bucko and County Assessor Jon Snyder.
Tax payments are due May 12 and Nov. 10, and can be paid by mail, online at www.porterco.org, in person at the county administration building or by check at the red drop box near the elevator at the administration center.
"Read the back of the tax bill for all the information," Bucko said.
Bucko said he brought in a company this year to help reduce errors in the 39,000 tax bills paid through banks, and mortgage and escrow companies. The service is paid for by the financial institutions and not the county, he said.
