Clay Township Investigated for Financial Mismanagement

From the Columbus Republic:

The Indiana State Police have expanded their investigation into financial mismanagement in Clay Township.

Bartholomew County Prosecutor Bill Nash said the investigation now goes "considerably beyond" a report by the State Board of Accounts, which launched the criminal investigation.

Nash said he did not know when state police will deliver to him a full report that will allow him to decide whether to charge former township Trustee Christa Acton or others.

Acton resigned last month amid allegations that she had mishandled funds, damaging township finances and depriving the township's volunteer fire department of the money it needs to operate.
