From MarketWatch.com:
Marion County Treasurer Claudia Fuentes reports that there was a dramatic growth
in online payments during the recent tax collection cycle for Marion County
property taxes. The Marion County Treasurer's Office recently partnered with
Invoice Cloud(TM), a leading paperless billing and online payment provider, to
offer new and innovative tax payment options. Since these new options have been
available to taxpayers, online payments of property taxes have increased by 90%.
According to Marion County Treasurer Claudia Fuentes, "We are thrilled that
so many taxpayers are using these convenient, budget-friendly and personalized
payment methods to pay their property taxes. Implementing this service was easy
to do through our partnership with Invoice Cloud, and more importantly, Marion
County residents find it simple to use. Taxpayers can pay online with immediate
confirmation by email, plus they can schedule future payments, budget and
implement a monthly payment plan, receive email notifications, and even go
completely paperless." For more information, go to http://www.indy.gov/treasurer
and click on "View or Pay Bill."
The Invoice Cloud service was introduced to Marion County taxpayers in April,
eliciting thousands more online payments than in previous years and many new
enrollments for paperless tax statements. The service offers multiple payment
methods for credit cards, debit cards and electronic checks including automatic
payments, one time payments and scheduled payments. The latest innovation,
"Flex-Pay," allows taxpayers to create their own payment plans with multiple
payment dates and amounts. This means taxpayers on a budget can set up automatic
payments to coincide with dates when their money is available. Many taxpayers in
Marion County have already set up payment plans through this service for their
second installments due November 13, 2012, providing them with peace of mind. In
addition to online payments, taxpayers can still pay bills via phone, at select
banks during the payment period, or at the Treasurer's Office.
