From the Richmond Palladium Item:
"The Richmond Common Council unanimously approved a tax abatement request Monday from Silgan White Cap Corp. for 10 years on equipment for a project that is valued at $913,640.
Silgan, which bought the former ALCOA building on Williamsburg Pike in 1997, makes mostly plastic and some metal lids for the soft drink and beer industry, said Bruce Wissel, president of the council's tax abatement committee.
The project will not create any new jobs but will retain 109, according to the company's request."
