Muncie Releases Paving Plan Supported by Wheel Tax Revenue

From the Muncie Star-Press:

Dozens of neighborhood streets — and some major traffic routes — are included in the city of Muncie’s new four-year paving plan.

The plan, released by street Supt. Duke Campbell, is the first under the administration of Mayor Dennis Tyler.

Campbell shared copies of the city paving plan with members of Delaware County Council at a meeting last week. Campbell was asked to attend to give some details of the plan because the majority of paving by city and county government is accomplished through revenue from the countywide wheel tax, which is adopted by county council.

The city received more than $900,000 in wheel tax revenue last year, according to the county auditor’s office.
