Calico Precision Molding Seeks Abatement for Expansion in Fort Wayne

From the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette:

A Fort Wayne plastics company wants to invest more than half a million dollars and add 13 full-time positions.

Calico Precision Molding, 1211 Progress Road, is seeking approval of a 10-year tax abatement on an investment of $543,500. The tax break would save the business $38,156. The request will be introduced to the City Council on next Tuesday, city officials said.

Most of the jobs at the 54,000-square-foot facility are in production and will pay about $19,000 a year. Three other positions in management and engineering will pay $50,000.

Four years ago, Calico announced an investment of more than $330,000 in building improvements and equipment and hiring up to 20 workers. The company employs 34 workers.
