Mainstreet LLC Granted Tax Abatement for Facility in Crawfordsville

From the Crawfordsville Journal-Review:

Mainstreet LLC asked the Crawfordsville City Council for tax credit enhancements last year, but were denied. This time they came asking for a six-year tax abatement for real property and a designation of the area they want to locate in as an Economic Revitalization Area.

As part of the agreement, Mainstreet LLC will upgrade Concord Road and the city will reimburse them in three payments, each totaling approximately $80,000.

Dechow also said the facility would bring 100 full-time jobs. Cost of the facility is estimated at $12 million. The direct impact to the Crawfordsville community for the first 10 years was placed at $100 million.

The resolution passed 4-3 with Perkins, Ray Kirtley, Biddle and Guard voting in favor, and Davis, Jennifer Lowe and Scott Molin voting against it.
