DLGF Reports Errors in 2012 Cost Schedules

Some minor errors in the 2012 cost schedules released on October 31, 2012 have been reported to the Department. Although these are typographical errors, some of the schedules were published with incorrect values as a result.

To correct these errors, the Department will publish an errata for the 2012 cost schedules on Friday, December 14. Please review the cost schedules and report any errors you discover to David Schwab, Senior Statistician/Application Systems Analyst, at dschwab@dlgf.in.gov.

Please report any errors by Wednesday, December 12. Errors reported after this date will be corrected for the 2013 cost schedule update.

And a later Update:

The cost schedule errata in yesterday’s e-mail refer to the newly released cost schedules for the 2013 Annual Adjustment.  The phrase “2012 cost schedules” was in error.  No changes need to be made to the cost schedules used for the 2012 reassessment.

We have also received several requests for a list of the errata discovered so far.  The errata that will affect 2013 costs are:

Appendix C

Pg. 8:  Additions.  The base rate for 500 SF (1 S Frame/Slab) should be 235 instead of 335.  This was a typo.

Appendix G

Pg. 20:  Strip Retail:  The column containing base rates for X values from 70 to 88 is missing.  As a result, the rates for this column are listed under the 50 – 68 column.  You may refer to this schedule from the 2011 update for the correct values, as no values on this table changed from the prior year.

Pg. 20:  Plumbing: The residential conventional fixture cost should be 800, not 700.  This was a typo.

Pg. 42:  Fast Food Base Costs.  The base rates for 3500, 4500, 5000, and 5500 are incorrect.  These are typos, and the corrected base rates will be consistent with the trend established in the schedule.

Please report any errors by Wednesday, December 12. Errors reported after this date will be corrected for the 2013 cost schedule update.
