Horizon Financial Management Seeks Abatement for Expansion in Merrillville

From the Northwest Indiana Times:

Horizon Financial Management, which provides billing and practice management services to healthcare providers across the country, currently operates from six suites in the Chase building at 8585 Broadway in Merrillville, said Frank Termini, managing partner at Horizon.
More space is needed for the growing company, which has about 60 employees, he said.
Horizon is working with Holladay Properties to locate in the AmeriPlex at the Crossroads development, which is near 101st Avenue and Broadway in town.
Holladay would build a 20,000-square-foot office that Horizon would rent, said Larry Mudd, vice president of development at Holladay.
"We're excited to have the opportunity to come into AmeriPlex," Termini said.
A 10-year real estate and personal property tax abatement request has been submitted for the project.
Mudd said the total investment for the new facility would be about $3 million. Horizon would create 10 to 15 new jobs by moving into the new building.
Merrillville's Economic Development Committee on Thursday gave a favorable recommendation for the tax abatement request.
"I'm all about jobs," said Town Councilman Tom Goralczyk, a member of the committee.
Town Administrator Howard Fink said the request moves to the Town Council for approval.
The council would first need to designate the AmeriPlex development as an economic revitalization area in town, which could occur at the council's Nov. 27 meeting.
Councilmen could consider approving the tax abatement request during the Dec. 11 meeting, Fink said.
