From the Greencastle Banner-Graphic:
The Putnam County Commissioners approved the appropriation of nearly $1 million in County Economic Development Income Tax (EDIT) money at their Monday meeting.
The total EDIT revenues for 2012 will be $961,245, with the biggest portions of that money going to the Putnam County Jail bond and to fund county roads. The allocation to the jail bond is $458,975, while $450,000 will go toward roads. The Greencastle-Putnam County Economic Development Center will receive $32,500. This is $2,500 more than the normal allotment, with the extra money going toward marketing to attract businesses to the region. The West Central Economic Development Center will receive $9,000, and $8,000 will go to the war chest. The remaining $2,770 goes to miscellaneous items.
