The Muncie Community School Board covered a lot of plan and budget ground during its Tuesday meeting.
The biggest item was the adoption of the budget for 2013. The proposed budget for the district’s six funds totaled $74,354,799, with a total levy of $27,863,516. The tax rate for those funds, according to MCS Chief Financial Officer Mark Burkhart will be 1.86 percent.
The budget will now be forwarded to the county auditor for approval before it is passed onto the state.
The board also OK’d the 2013 capital projects fund plan, the bus replacement plan and the 2013 pension fund neutrality resolution.
