Precision Machining plans to invest $750,000 on new equipment, while hoping to secure a tax abatement to assist with the purchase.
The Fort Wayne company, 4323 Merchant Road, would save $47,525 over a 10-year span, according to a request filed this week with city officials. The business wants to buy computer numerical controlled, or CNC, equipment to replace aging machinery.
Precision employs 39 workers, but no new jobs would result from the equipment upgrade. The abatement application may be introduced to the City Council on Tuesday.
