Six Year Abatement Proposed for Harlan Bakeries Expansion in Indianapolis

From the Indianapolis Star:

Harlan Bakeries plans a $6.5 million expansion that will add 25 jobs to its industrial bakery at 7575 Georgetown Road on the Northwestside.

The expansion includes buying new manufacturing equipment and enlarging the building, which Harlan has used since 2003.

Harlan, based in Avon, said the new jobs will pay an average of $11.62 an hour.

The company already employs 545 people at the site.

The city Metropolitan Development Commission will vote Wednesday on a six-year property tax abatement for Harlan that will save it $185,765.
