From the Shelbyville News:
Triton Central High School football fans will notice something new when they return to cheer on the Tigers in August.
On Wednesday night, the Northwestern Consolidated School Corp. voted in favor of allowing Shelbyville's Runnebohm Construction to build a new athletic concession building, with a project end date of Aug. 15. ...
The new building will consist of concession stands, locker rooms, coaches' offices, athletes' showers and restrooms, public restrooms, a laundry room, storage and an athletic trainer's room. The building is also slated to have HVAC systems.
Perhaps most important is the fact that it also comes with a price tag of $960,500, which is only the construction cost. At the meeting, school officials said lockers will be an extra cost, approximately $45,000 per locker room, making the total project cost over $1 million.
The project will be funded through bonds, resulting in taxpayers paying a little bit more.
On a home valued at $50,000, taxpayers will see an incremental tax rate impact of $1.90 and a maximum tax rate impact of $6.67 on their annual bills. On a home valued at $100,000, taxpayers could pay $6.22 more but no more than $21.84. For a home valued at $122,000, the cost would be $8.98 and a maximum of $31.51; while those owning a home valued at $150,000 will pay $12.40 or a maximum of $43.52. For a home valued at $200,000, the cost is $18.57 and a maximum of $65.20.
