Many Property Owners in Johnson County Will See Lower Tax Bills

From the Johnson County Daily Journal:

Nearly half of Johnson County property owners will pay less in property taxes this year.

Steady property values and slightly lower tax rates are contributing to a drop in nearly 45 percent of tax bills this year. For homeowners, nearly half will see lower tax bills.

The county is preparing to mail property tax bills to all property owners Wednesday, and the first payment will be due May 10.

More than two-thirds of property owners will get a bill that is the same or lower than what they have paid in the past, according to an analysis by the county information technology department.
