Franklin Reclaims $1.4 Million Set Aside for Former Best Buy Distribution Facility

From the Daily Journal:

Money set aside for a Franklin facility that is now closed could be used for road projects, drainage improvements and building repairs.

The city is taking back nearly $1.4 million that had been set aside in a special account for equipment and improvements at the Best Buy distribution facility. The company closed that facility earlier this year, and more than 200 people lost their jobs.

Next week, members of the city redevelopment commission will decide how to spend that money.

One option is to put the money in a special account, which can be used for projects all over the city, city attorney Rob Schafstall said.
