Union County Nets $108,500 from Tax Sale

From the Richmond Palladium-Item:

Union County sold 15 properties at its recent tax sale, collecting a total of $108,576.

If all owners redeem their properties within a year, $82,461 of those proceeds will go back to the property owners, Auditor Gene Sanford said.

The county had 39 properties with unpaid property taxes in the sale. Of the 15 that found buyers, only two were campground lots, Sanford said.

The unsold properties, which includes 20 campground lots and four other properties, probably will be advertised for sale again in a commissioners’ deed sale next year.
