The first installment for Newton County taxes is due May 10, said county treasurer Rosalie Mathis. The second installment is due Nov. 13.
Tax statements will be mailed Monday.
Payments can be made at the treasurer's office, a local bank or by mail. Use your tax statement when making a payment.
The treasurer's office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time, Monday through Friday. The office also will be open from 8 a.m. to noon local time on Saturday, May 5.
The courthouse will be closed Tuesday, May 8, for the primary election.
