From the Indianapolis Star:
Whirlpool Corp. will honor its commitment to pay the state of Indiana $800,000 after a loss of jobs at the company's Evansville product-development facility.
Following a cut in manufacturing jobs in 2009, Whirlpool had agreed to keep 260 full-time positions in Evansville so it could retain previously awarded tax credits from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. The manufacturer now employs 230 people, all but 20 of which are Indiana residents, at that center.
