Herald-Times Reports Proposed Food and Beverage Tax in Monroe County "Dead for Now"

From the Bloomington Herald-Times:

After six months of deliberation, the proposed food and beverage tax is dead for now.

The Monroe County Council suspended discussions of the proposed 1 percent county tax in order to review other funding options for the Bloomington/Monroe County Convention Center, according to a news release issued by council president Geoff McKim and vice president Rick Dietz. A vote had been scheduled for Sept. 10.
