Members of the city council may consider filing an appeal with the state for more property tax money.
After learning during last week’s budget hearings that the city stands to receive only about $125,000 in new money for 2014, council members are scrambling to figure out what to do. With only that amount of money, most city council members agree that even the 3 percent raises they hope to give to city employees are unlikely, and any other increases would, for sure, be off the table.
