Huntington will gain up to 22 new jobs by 2016 when it becomes home to the first U.S. facility of a European company that makes earthmoving equipment, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. announced Wednesday.
Auger Torque USA LLC, Australian-owned with headquarters in the United Kingdome, will spend more than $550,000 to lease and equip a facility in Huntington. The company expects to be operating by October. It said the new facility will allow it to expand its market for trenching attachments and earth augers within the United States.
Auger Torque, which employs nearly 200 workers full-time around the world, has already started hiring welders, office personnel and sales associates. Interested applicants can apply by sending their resumes tocareers@augertorqueusa.com, the IEDC said.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Auger Torque USA, LLC up to $100,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $50,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Huntington approved additional incentives at the request of Huntington County Economic Development.
